ART
Students have built their skills in observation drawing exploring still life and natural objects. They have explored elements and principles creating artworks inspired by their personal ideas and experiences this year.
Product Design & Construction/Wood
Students focus on developing skills with hand and power tools and design and construct a timber cabinet that includes a door/drawer. In doing so they follow the Product Design Process, consider design ideas and options, create working drawings this year in computer aided drawing format (CAD) and production plans.
DRAMA
Students created and presented drama pieces that demonstrate a range of dramatic skills, techniques and processes. They explored a range of drama styles and genres using construction techniques including research, improvisation and script writing. Please have a look at our students’ drama performances.
Patisserie
Students learned the art of baking and pastry-making, and practical skills required to produce a range of Pastry shop products. Students developed their understanding of key ingredients and processes involved and design practical solutions to meet various dietary needs. During the flexible and remote learning, students embraced the challenge of baking and pastry-making at home and developed the necessary skills of baking and pastry-making.
METAL TECHNOLOGY
PHOTOGRAPHY
In year 10 photography students’ have used Adobe photoshop to develop digital collages manipulating layers. They have captured self portraits, and created monochromatic still life compositions while becoming familiar with camera settings such as aperture, shutter speed and iso.
PUBLIC ART
Students have had fun exploring different forms of ephemeral art in public places including environmental art and street art. They have created assemblages using natural materials, designed mandalas and made stickers and zines. They have looked at the work of Bansky and created their own stencil art.
VCD
Students developed their awareness of how designers communicate ideas to specific audiences and purposes, through different visual presentations, practice and viewpoints. They built up skills in two and three dimensional drawing as well as methods such as computer and three dimensional processes. Please have a look at students’ visual diaries of learning tasks and exploration of the design process.
