Welcome to our 2022 Arts & Technology Online Exhibition.
We are very pleased to showcase the remarkable work our students have been able to produce on returning to classrooms this year.
The accompanying video presents the official opening of our exhibition and announces the special award winners for 2022.
This recording includes a welcome by Vincent Sicari, the official opening speech by local artist Nusra Latif Qureshi and words of inspiration from our Visual Arts Leaders 2022.
We are delighted to have Nusra opening our exhibition. Nusra is a highly regarded local artist and parent of a current year 10 student at Eltham H.S. In 2021 she was the local winner of the Nillumbik Prize for Contemporary Art. Her work Remnant Blessings-I is now part of the Nillumbik Shire’s Visual Art Collection.
The Vicki Ward Prize, The Peter Brock Bursary Award, The Claire Edgoose Awards for Excellence and The Nyora Studio Gallery Prize are a significant accolade for the recipients.
We are pleased to welcome Vicki Ward, Robert Brock, Andrew and Trisha Edgoose and Emmy Mavroidis who will announce the recipients of these important awards.
Our visual arts leaders will then announce the recipients of The Wes Muir Acquisition Prize, The Principal’s Acquisition Prize and the Principle’s award for excellence in Technology. These awards acknowledge the hard work and excellence of individual students.
We sincerely thank Robert Brock for the The Brock Foundation, Andrew and Trisha Edgoose, Emmy Mavroidis, Vicki Ward and the family of the late Wes Muir for their generous support and making these awards possible.
Congratulations to all of this year’s most deserving winners.
I would like to extend my sincere thanks to the Arts & Technology teachers for their tireless, inspiring and dedicated teaching and support of our students.
Many thanks to Bronwyn Seedeen for the countless hours spent putting this online presentation together.
Special thanks to Gabe Piras for the filming and editing of our recording.
And thank you all for visiting our online show – we hope you enjoy it.
Kind Regards,
Lisa Foote
