Each year Eltham High School is well represented in the VCE Season of Excellence.
The VCE Season of Excellence is an annual event showcasing outstanding VCE work from schools across Victoria. It includes concerts for Top Class and Top Acts, exhibitions for Top Designs and Top Arts, and multiple screenings of short films – Top Screens.
These are presented in Melbourne’s major cultural venues each year including the NGV, ACMI and Melbourne Museum.
It is a credit to the talent and hard work of our students that they are represented in this event. It is also a reflection of our committed teachers, the local community in which we reside and Eltham High’s value for the Arts and creativity.
In 2021 three students were shortlisted for the Season of Excellence 2022.
TOP ARTS – ART: Emily Broeren
TOP ARTS – STUDIO ARTS: Evelyn Robinson-Fletcher
TOP DESIGN – PRODUCT DESIGN WOOD: Lucas Kennealy
Following the shortlisting, Emily Broeren’s work was selected as a finalist in Top Arts 2022.
Emily’s work has been exhibited at the NGV Top Arts exhibition 2022 which was on show until October this year.
This work was also selected by an art panel for the Wes Muir Acquisition Prize at last year’s Eltham High Arts and Technolody exhibition and will now become a part of the school’s prestigious Art Collection.
Additionally Emily was selected to present at the NGV/Art Education Victoria Kickstart program in February, 2022. This program is delivered by high performing students who discuss their folio process, concepts and provide tips to year 12 students embarking on their studies in Art and/or Studio Arts.
Emily represented the school in her usual exemplary fashion and inspired the many aspiring year 12 students who attended.
