Welcome to our 2021 Arts & Technology Online Exhibition.
We are very pleased to showcase the remarkable work our students have been able to produce despite the challenges this year presented.
Our 2021 exhibition will highlight the work and celebrate the achievements of our senior Arts students.
The accompanying video presents the official opening of our exhibition and announces the special award winners for 2021.
This recording includes speeches by Vincent Sicari, the official opening speech by local artist Peter Wegner and words of inspiration from our Visual Arts Leaders 2021, Ethan Lonsdale, Isobel Rowley and Milo Wade.
We are delighted to have Peter Wegner opening our exhibition. As a highly regarded local artist, parent of past students and one time artist in residence at Eltham High we could not think of anyone more appropriate. Peter, who won this year’s Archibald Prize, provides a very inspiring speech about the process of art making and creativity.
Robert Brock, will introduce The Peter Brock Bursary Award and announce this year’s deserving recipient. Following this Tish and Andrew Edgoose will present The Claire Edgoose Awards for Excellence and Emmy Mavroidis will announce the winner of the inaugural ‘Nyora Studio Gallery Prize’.
Our visual arts leaders will then announce the recipients of The Vicki Ward Prize, The Wes Muir Acquisition Prize, The Principal’s Acquisition Prize and the Principle’s award for excellence in Technology.
We sincerely thank Robert Brock for the The Brock Foundation, Andrew and Tish Edgoose, Emmy Mavroidis, Vicki Ward and the family of the late Wes Muir for their generous support and making these awards possible.
Congratulations to all of this year’s most deserving winners.
Finally, I would like to extend my sincere thanks to the Arts & Technology teachers for their tireless, inspiring and dedicated teaching and support of our students.
Many thanks to Harry Foote and Lauren McKinnon for the incredible work and many tireless hours they have put in to make this online presentation.
Special thanks to Gabe Piras for the filming and editing of our recording.
And thank you all for visiting our online show- I hope you enjoy it.
Kind Regards,
Lisa Foote
