Welcome to our 2023 Arts & Technology Online
Exhibition.
This platform showcases the creative achievements
of our students across years 7 to 12.
An opening was held at our physical
exhibition on November 15th. It was the
first time we have hosted an opening at the school since 2019 so it was great
to see so many of our school community in attendance and finally able to view
student works first hand.
Sergei Shatrov officially opened our
exhibition. Sergei is a master potter
with over 30 years experience, having worked and studied in studios in Japan
and America. Currently he is the manager
of Clay Talk at Montsalvat, Australia’s oldest continuously active artists’
community. As a well regarded local artist and also a parent of Eltham High
School, Sergei was a fitting choice to open the show this year. We thank Sergei for taking the time to open
this year’s show.
The opening recognises the achievements of our
students through the awarding of certificates of excellence, along with the
announcement of the major award recipients including: The Arts KLA award for excellence, The Peter
Brock Bursary Award, The Claire Edgoose Awards for Excellence, The Nyora Studio
Gallery Exhibition Prize, The Wes Muir Acquisition Prize, The Principals Prize
for Excellence in Technology and The Principal’s Acquisition Prize.
We sincerely thank the Brock Family, Andrew and Patricia
Edgoose, Emmy Mavroidis, Vicki Ward and the family of the late Wes Muir for
their generous support and making these awards possible.
Congratulations to all of this year’s most
deserving winners.
Finally, I would like to thank our visual art
leaders for their hard work and dedication this year in promoting the arts and
engaging students in creativity.
I would also like to extend my sincere thanks to
the Arts & Technology teachers for their tireless, inspiring and dedicated
teaching and support of our students.
Many thanks to Peter Vapp and Laura Cain-Asbury for
the many hours they have put in to make this online presentation look so
amazing.
And thank you all for visiting our online show- we
hope you enjoy it.
Kind Regards,
Lisa Foote
On behalf of the Arts and Technology KLA’s.
